We Love Stella by Liberty

How cool is this?!? Each window is done to a shape of a letter in We heart Stella- scheme. Let’s have a closer look at my favourite ones:

We. I am a big fan of hair in displays right now. Doing a special trend report on hair styles soon- so wait for it!! This is the first window in the sequence and I think it was a good choice to actually read out the letters clearly so that in the next ones you start looking for the letters.

E. Stella undies on what look like balloons (but are probably not).

L. How retro. I’ve given you guys this funny detail of one of the mannequins wearing eyeball goggles. At first I didn’t even notice them but after having a closer look. . How random..!  But then anyone who knows me knows that I like random things, and these goggles make me giggle ;).

L. ‘Mannequin’ made out of stockings I think. Love this one so humorous. Liking and thumps up.

The undies form the bridge in the A. Seriously cool, and edgy.

I rest my case.

London Fashion Week A/W 10

Various, Oxford Street, Bond Street, London

At the time of London Fashion Week , which is now, quite a few stores use this time to promote their fashion in their windows. I did see some really good ones, but last autumn was so much better with Zara doing backstage scenes, and so did Debenhams. Instead the shops want you to see the actual shows: TopShop is showing their catwalk show live on a large screen in their Oxford Circus store windows, and Burberry were advertising their website for live coverage.

KG, Regent Street. I had to show you these first because they are so funny, and a great idea for a shoe display. Suits Fashion Week because it gives me the feeling of the buzz in shows that general public can’t see. I saw something similar in Saatchi Gallery a month ago where lots of  legs were showing on the bottom of a large pile of clothes. It might still be there so go and have a look.

Harrods Cherry Blossom Gardens

Harrods, Brompton Road, London

Harrods have gone for a Japanese style theme with each window scene taking place in a cherry blossom garden. They have traditional Japanese elements such as cherry blossom flowers, ornaments and kotatsu tables in them, and have quiet serene feel to them. The backgrounds are very beautifully painted, and they have lots of pastels in them. I find the Harrods kids mannequins usually too odd, but these windows they actually suit very well.

A couple gather around a kotatsu table wearing Japanese style outfits.

Cute little flower girls.. Occasion wear suits these windows perfectly.

I love this one, it’s so pretty all around.

Windows of Love

Love is all around us, it’s everywhere I go.. Well, I’m not feeling the love that much this Valentines Day, and it’s actually not everywhere in the windows either, mostly lingerie and jewellery shops. I present you with my findings.

Champagne and bubbles at Agent Provocateur, Pont Street. Very sexy.

I felt like I was peeping trough a steamy window when I saw this at Calvin Klein, Kings Road.

Spring on Bond Street

There was a spring in my step when I visited Bond Street- the main luxury shopping street in London. Sales are now over, and it’s all about the new season. The highlights for me were the cut-out outfits at Hermes (who are fast becoming one of my favourites when it comes to windows), a pair of kick-ass Prada heels and the nautical luxury at Ralph Lauren.

The Burberry flagship store windows pretty much consist of golden pedestal blocks, check patterned hanging elements and headless mannequins. The faces of  their spring/summer 2010 campaign, British actress Emma Watson and the indie boy of the band One Night Only serve as a backdrop. The fashion statement is all about pretty macs and dresses for women and preppy pastels for men.

I used to make loads of clothes for my paper dolls when I was young, so no wonder I like the idea taken into these displays at Hermes.

This gorgeous pair of shoes can be found in the Prada windows. Yes, please!!

These surreal hallways remind me of Alice in Wonderland with the countless small doorways. When is the Tim Burton Alice film coming out anyways?

This tiny bit freaky mannequin and Mulberry bags ride a carousel.

We are sailing – in a very luxury way at Ralph Lauren.
