The Wizard of OZ comes to Harrods

Harrods, Knightsbridge, London

Harrods celebrates the 70th anniversary of the classic children’s story The Wizard of OZ. In the story a young girl called Dorothy dreams that she, her dog Toto and her farmhouse get transported to the magical land of OZ. The story follows her journey to The Emerald City to meet The Wizard of OZ who can return her back home. Famous characters such as The Wicked Witch of the West, Tin Man and Scarecrow are all featured in the windows.

Dorothy.

Scarecrow in the field.

The Wicked Witch.

All the side windows are a lot simpler with green light curtain and in this one it’s the Tin Man.

This is my last Christmas post. Next thing on the agenda is sale. So I will be seeing red for the next two weeks, then can’t wait for spring windows.

  1. Hi, I love your blog! Some really inspiring displays – there aren’t enough vm blogs online!
I was just wondering if I could be cheeky and ask you how you first got into visual merchandising? I am currently studying graphic design in Dundee and I would love to transfer my skills into a visual merchandising career when I graduate in May. It would be great of you could give me some tips on how to get into the industry?
    Many thanks,
    Alison
